MACON COUNTY COURTHOUSE FIRE RESTORATION
On July 14, 2016, an unknown individual fire-bombed the first floor offices of the Macon County Courthouse. The subsequent damage involved roughly one third of the offices on this floor. The resulting smoke and water damage affected the remainder of the building. Provision Contracting Services (PCS), their consultants and subcontractors were on the site within two hours and worked with the Macon County Commission (MCC) and Traveler’s Insurance Company to assess the damages and develop a plan for building occupancy within one week.
The premises were cleaned from the first through the third floor and the fire-damaged areas were sealed off for restoration. All building systems and damaged areas were restored and additional security was added to the building. PCS met all of the scheduling commitments so that the building was fully repaired and brought back on line by April 2017. Final project cost were $370,000. Responsibilities included: Client Interface / Coordination of Disciplines / Estimating / Construction.
